Semper was launched in 2001 by veteran financier, Andrew Way, who identified the lending gap for bespoke private lending solutions as an alternative means to secure commercial finance. Andrew recognised a gap in the investor segment for high-yield, mortgage-backed securities. As such, the company’s collective vision is to enable property-secured wealth creation with lowest-rate-for-risk, flexible debt products and high-return, risk-priced investment products. 

To actualise this opportunity, Andrew partnered with Kieran Gill and built a bespoke platform. The portal provides a centralised solution that migrates all loan origination information at the ‘front end,’ and provides investors complete ‘back end’ transparency to select from a diverse range of different risk-weighted trades.

Semper is now an established non-bank lender that specialises in providing structured debt solutions for $2M+ commercial transactions.

The company entered into a joint venture with the Costa Family Office in 2019, which has further strengthened its warehouse funding facility, supported more competitive rates and greater scale. Semper is now preparing to open its warehouse facility to private investors, wholesale investors, and fund managers. The offering is expected to appeal to investors seeking high-yield bonds that offer a greater return than traditional term deposits to offset risk from equity markets.
